The park covers 39,206 hectares (392 km2; 151 sq mi) and is in the heart of an ecosystem that spans 8,000 square kilometers (3,100 sq mi) along the Kenya-Tanzania border.
The park is well-known for being the greatest spot in Africa to get up and personal with free-roaming elephants and other animals. The park’s other attractions include the opportunity to meet Maasai people and breathtaking vistas of Mount Kilimanjaro, the world’s tallest free-standing peak.
Big sky and distant vistas mingle with marshy springs and dry, dusty ground trampled by hundreds of animals in Amboseli.

Itinerary

Day 1: Samburu National Reserve
Pick up from your Nairobi hotel or the airport at around 8 am and transfer to Wilson airport for your flight to Samburu National Reserve. You will pass over lush farmlands and catch glimpses of the glacier slopes of Mt. Kenya before dropping down to the arid country of the North and the Samburu Game Reserve. On arrival, you will be met and transferred to Ashnil Samburu Camp. After lunch proceeds for the evening game drive where you will have a chance of seeing the Samburu Special Five which are Somali Ostrich, Beisa Oryx, Reticulated Giraffe, Gerenuk, and Grevy’s zebra return to the camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Samburu National Reserve
Early in the morning at 6:30 am, go for a morning game drive to spot more game and birds. You’ll then return to the camp for breakfast. During the mid-day sun, we will retire to the camp for a swim or a cold drink. In the afternoon, have a game drive until late when you return to the camp for dinner and an overnight stay. You will have lunch, dinner, and an overnight stay at Samburu Ashnil Camp.

Day 3: Samburu National Reserve –Ol Pejeta Conservancy

After breakfast, drive to Sweet Waters Game Reserve, a private sanctuary near the foot of Mount Kenya. Among the highlights of the reserve, you will get to visit the Chimpanzee Sanctuary located within the reserve, the only of its kind in Kenya. There is an optional night game drive to watch animals. Your overnight stay is at the camp.

Day 4:Lake Nakuru National Park
After breakfast, leave for Lake Nakuru which is a World Heritage Site and a bird paradise home to millions of pink flamingos. Lake Nakuru is also a wildlife sanctuary for endangered black and white rhinos and the rare Rothschild’s giraffe. Other animals to spot are lions and leopards. Arrive for lunch at Lake Nakuru Lodge. Later you will go for a game viewing drive which includes a visit to Makalia falls until the evening. You will then go for dinner and an overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 5: Lake Nakuru Lodge-Maasai Mara
After breakfast, leave for the morning game drive en route to Masai Mara. Our journey deepens into the Maasai plains. Upon arrival, check in to your camp at lunchtime. We will start the first introduction game drive in the afternoon tracking various animal species and birds with your driver guide until sunset. Mara is the jewel park of Kenya. You will easily see lots of lions, elephants, antelopes, cheetahs and leopards. Dinner and your overnight stay are at the camp.

Day 6 &7: Maasai Mara
After breakfast and with picnic lunch you will spend the whole day in the park driving around. The game drive around the park will take you to the famous Mara river for hippos and crocodile. You will break for lunch under Acacia tree. Later you will continue with safari as you head back to the lodge in the evening.

Day 8: Maasai Mara-Lake Naivasha
Depart Masai Mara in the morning for Lake Naivasha and arrive in time for lunch. Check in, relax and have lunch. After lunch, you will enjoy rides while watching hippos and other wildlife. You will also disembark at Crescent Island where you will have a guided tour of the island.

Day 9: Lake Naivasha
After breakfast, go for a bicycle ride at Hell’s Gate National Park which is known for its wide variety of wildlife and for its scenery. This includes the Fischer’s Tower and Central Tower columns and Hell’s Gate Gorge. The national park is also home to three geothermal power stations at Olkaria. In the afternoon, go for a boat ride on the freshwater lake to watch many hippos and fish eagles and other birds of prey: ospreys, herons, pelicans, and cormorants. In the evening, dinner and YOUR overnight stay will be at the camp on the shore of the lake.

Day 10 Lake Naivasha –Nairobi
After breakfast check out from the camp and leave for Nairobi to catch your flight back home.
