On this trip to Masai Mara Safari, experience the fascinating feeling of nomadic life through exciting daytime activities and wonderful overnight accommodations at camps or lodges.
Day 1: Nairobi – Maasai Mara
Your safari takes you to the Maasai Mara Reserve and into the realm of the Maasai, Kenya’s cattle-herding nomads keen to maintain their traditions, beginning at 7:00 a.m. from the airport or your place of residence in Nairobi. The Mara is beautiful, with Kenya’s highest concentration of animals, and many tourists consider it a must-see on any trip to Africa. When most people think of Africa and safaris, they see beautiful grassland plains dotted with acacia trees, wildebeests, zebras, lions, and jackals connected by the cycle of life and death. Three days in the Mara will barely scrape the surface of Mara’s marvels.
Arrive at Masai Mara in time for lunch, then go on an evening game drive till late in the evening, when you’ll settle down for supper and an overnight stay. Overnight stays at Mara Sopa Lodge, Mara Serena Safari Lodge, Ashnil Mara Tented Camp, or Mara Sarova Game Camp are available.
Day 2: Maasai Mara
Spend the day in Kenya’s most popular game reserve, the Masai Mara, where you’ll have the highest chance of seeing the Big Five – lion, leopard, buffalo, rhinoceros, and elephant. Game drives are flexible; you may go out with picnic lunch boxes and spend the entire day in the park, or you can go out early in the morning and late in the afternoon. A tour to a local Masai community (at a cost of US$20 per person) is also available.
All meals and accommodation will be provided at Mara Sopa Lodge, Mara Serena Safari Lodge, Ashnil Mara Tented Camp, or Mara Sarova Game Camp.
Day 3: Maasai Mara National Reserve – Nairobi
Breakfast at your camp in the morning, check out of the camp, park, and drive to Nairobi, arriving in time for lunch. After lunch at Carnivore, you will be dropped off at your hotel or airport at 3:30 p.m.
