Later on, our representative will pick you up for an amazing sunset canoeing in one of the spectacular crater lakes, a true sanctuary nature trail lake surrounded by a forest with over 130 different bird species. The sunset is magical… very quiet and so peaceful. You will spend 1.5 hours cruising the lake and watching the birds go to sleep. Later, you will enjoy a bottle of wine (white/red) or champagne and snacks on the lake shore watching the sunset.

On this day, we will also meet for a safari briefing to share some tips with regard to your safari before embarking on a wildlife sanctuary!

You will witness an unforgettable natural wonder as you observe exotic mammals such as lions, giraffes, buffaloes, wildebeests, zebras and various types of antelopes such as gazelles. Tarangire is a paradise for birdwatchers with over 550 different species including the Maasai ostrich, the world’s largest bird.

In the afternoon, you will enjoy our homemade hot lunch at a picnic site. The rest of the afternoon is dedicated to more game viewing. Later on, proceed to your lodge near Lake Manyara for evening leisure, dinner and your overnight stay.

The name “Serengeti” comes from the Maasai word “siringitu”, meaning “endless plains”. You will see why once you see its ocean of grassland savannas stretching to the horizon as far as your eye can see. The abundance of African wildlife is of course what makes it such a sought-after safari destination. Animals include healthy populations of lion, buffalo, impala, hippo, waterbuck, elephant, cheetah, leopard and a host of other game species—not to mention the more than 400 species of birds.

At the edge of the crater, you will have your first glimpse of what awaits you the following day—glistening streams, open grassland and an infinite number of animals. You will then get out of your safari vehicle for an hour of walking safari. This walk is a very good way to get out of the car without committing to a serious walking or trekking after several days of wildlife viewing. It allows you to see tracks and signs and have the feeling of isolation that comes from trekking in the African Bush.

In the evening, you will return to your lodge which offers a spectacular view of Ngorongoro Crater.

The crater has a unique ecosystem that is inhabited by more than 25,000 resident animals. In the grass steppes and acacia forest you can encounter almost every animal species of the East African savanna, including the “Big Five” (rhino, elephant, Cape buffalo, lion, leopard).

Later on, ascend the crater and proceed to the respective airport in time for your air transfer back home or to your next destination.
